Springer, a leading global scientific and technical publisher providing quality content to researchers & scientific personnels in academia, research & scientific institutions has recently published a book titled “Microstructure Atlas of P91 Steel” (eBook ISBN: 978-981-19-9562-0 and Print ISBN: 978-981-19-9561-3).



The book highlights the qualitative and quantitative sequential changes in material degradation of P91 steel under elevated temperature and stress. This grade of steel is used for various high temperature components of power plants, like steam pipelines, headers and boiler tubes. This book is an outcome of a collaborative research project between NETRA, and CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory, Jamshedpur, in which extensive testings were done on a large number of P91 steel samples to understand the correlation of deterioration of material during service and consequential changes in various parameters which can be detected non-destructively in the field. It provides useful insights to the researchers and professionals working in thermal power plants.
